about the artist
Anneliese Hansen (ah'-nuh-lees) is an aspiring graphic designer currently based in O’Fallon Illinois. They received their Associate of Arts degree from Southwestern Illinois College in 2019. They are currently working toward their Bachelor of Arts degree at Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville. They intend to do work such as creating logo designs and advertisements for companies looking to showcase their identities and messages to the public in fun and engaging ways.

Anneliese finds artistic inspiration in telling stories via the playful medium of watercolor. They enjoy experimenting with juxtaposing the typically delicate nature of watercolor with a haphazard style of approach and incautious line art. Currently, they are exploring ways of marrying this style of art with their professional design work, which is notable by its blocks of colors and use of bold lines. Anneliese also works to infuse story into their graphic design work, allowing brand and messaging to shine through while being visually engaging. Their design work intends that clients will not need to sacrifice playfulness for professionalism, or vice versa, but, instead, proves that both qualities can exist simultaneously and complement each other effectively for a stronger overall design.
